Heart-Led Healers: Why Accountability Matters in Sacred Work

Justina Sharp Season 1 Episode 12

Send us a text

Trust your gut. That uncomfortable feeling when something doesn't quite align with a spiritual teacher or healer? It's not just random anxiety—it's your sacred intuition speaking. This episode dives deep into the critical importance of discernment on your spiritual journey.

The spiritual path isn't all roses and butterflies. As we progress, we encounter challenging situations that test our discernment. Whether you've followed a teacher for weeks or years, honoring that internal guidance when something feels off is essential for your spiritual wellbeing. Your intuition serves as a protective mechanism, communicating vital information from your higher self and spirit team.

For practitioners in the healing arts, ongoing self-examination becomes non-negotiable. When we fail to address our own wounds, they inevitably bubble to the surface, affecting our work and relationships. True spiritual leadership requires accountability—recognizing our missteps, offering genuine apologies, and committing to alignment with our highest intentions. Kindness should never be mistaken for weakness, nor should it mean becoming a doormat. Speaking your truth while maintaining heart-centered communication creates healthy boundaries that honor both yourself and others.

The episode concludes with a beautiful exploration of Reiki sessions as gateways to cross-cultural spiritual experiences. During these healing encounters, practitioners often connect with ancestral wisdom across diverse traditions—feeling the energy of Italian cathedrals, perceiving Japanese symbols, or receiving guidance in languages they've never studied. These profound experiences remind us of our interconnectedness and the universal nature of healing energy.

Speaker 1:

I can't wait to let others feel the love of community and remind us of the importance of coming together instead of coming apart. Now let's take a deep breath together in through our nose and a long exhale out of our mouth. This is my intentions in a poem to set the tone for our sacred soul sister community. Here you go.

Speaker 1:

I'm so glad you're here. Hello, we are at episode 12. Welcome back. I hope your weekend was great. I hope that the rest of your week is wonderful and I'm so happy you're here, thank you. Thank you, thank you for listening. Excuse me, so this episode is a little well, going to start a little more serious. Today, there's been some things kind of weighing on my heart that I feel like Spirit would like me to share. So, side note, everything is going beautifully as far as like doing the energy healing and different things coming up. And we've got a class coming up. We're teaching with me and a yoga instructor and we're going to talk a little bit about the chakra. At the beginning It'll be a seven-week series on the chakras and then, as we talk about it, and then we'll do some yoga movement and poses and then we'll do energy healing and all kinds of things. So I'm super excited about that coming up.

Speaker 1:

But the subject I wanted to approach today is discernment. So, while I would love to believe and to tell people that you know, healing, energy healing and any kind of healing is all roses and butterflies, it's not, and there are moments where there's some things that come up, sometimes a lot of things that come up that are really hard to understand and hard to accept, and so I just, the further you get on this spiritual path, you'll find yourself having moments of questioning things, and I want you to really honor that. Okay, I want you to know that that is your communication with the divine and your higher self and your spirit team, and to really honor situations where you're just getting a minute of feeling like you know, I'm just not sure this situation resonates with me or I'm just not sure this person resonates with me Right, and I also want you to know that that can change, so you can connect with someone and start to learn from them or be mentored from them and feel like this is absolutely amazing. I feel like their heart is genuine. And then you can also be later down the road sometimes years down the road, sometimes weeks down the road, finding yourself sort of sitting back and getting maybe a weird feeling in your gut or in your shoulders and your neck, just kind of like something doesn't feel right, something feels maybe out of alignment, something feels like it doesn't resonate with me anymore. I want you to honor that and I want you to know that that's okay and you were given that gift of discernment in order to help guide you and keep you safe.

Speaker 1:

So if you feel that way, especially if you're ever working with someone in the healing community and you ever see them or hear them intentionally saying or doing things that are very outwardly not nice that's a very generic way of saying it, I guess, but you know, my belief is that when you work in the healing world work in the healing world that you lead with your heart and you lead with your soul, and your intention is to assist others to lead with their heart and their soul and to uplift as you can Now. With that being said, yes, you're going to run into some people that are very negative and don't want your light, quite frankly, and that's okay. They can make their choice and go somewhere else, and sometimes, if someone is so adamant about bringing their darkness and overpowering, sometimes you have to, as the healer, be the one to say okay, it seems that things aren't in alignment anymore. I'm going to have to disconnect this relationship. I wish you the absolute best, I send you love and light and I um and I honor you and thank you, and and then you go about your business. They go about their business, right. Sometimes that's what's needed.

Speaker 1:

The further I get on the spiritual path, the more I'm seeing that there's a lot of people that aren't willing to do their internal healing. Healing and that's manifesting in some not so great ways. If we don't put the work in to help ourselves grow, to help ourselves release negative beliefs, help ourselves release our frustrations, our resentments, our blocks, quite frankly, if we aren't willing to go within, it's going to bubble out of you eventually and it's going to come across not good and it's going to push people away. And it's really sad to watch that happen, because there's this part of you that loves that person as a soul. The further you get on this path, you do start to see everyone as a soul, with all of their good, the bad, the ugly, everything.

Speaker 1:

And you can see when someone is just so adamantly not willing to deal with their own stuff, because sometimes when we deal with our own stuff, we have to take responsibility. We have to take responsibility for our actions, we have to take responsibility for our words and sometimes as humans it's a hard thing to swallow that maybe. Maybe you intentionally cause hurt to someone when that stuff happens, because we are human. Things happen. But it's essential that you have to look at it and you have to say, okay, I recognize I made some bad choices in this situation. I could have done better, I'm sorry for that and I want to do better and I want to not do that again. And I want to do better and I want to not do that again.

Speaker 1:

So, as in any business the healing business or non-healing business just in humankind, we need to be willing to be responsible for our own selves and take accountability and we need to apologize when we have done things wrong and we need to change that, because there's nothing worse. As you all know, with the apology that comes every time someone does the same exact thing over and over and over again, that one is useless, right, and I don't know if it's worse or if they can even be compared, but when it's someone that never apologizes, that never takes accountability, in fact that will go above and beyond to switch it around, to place themselves in a position that they were the victim Overall, it's really just a sad situation. I just want to remind you, because we are human, okay, and we are lifing and there's so many things going on at all times, and I get that, but I think it's so important to check in with yourself, especially if you are in the healing world and you're doing any form of healing with anyone, to really check in with yourself, at the very least weekly. Like, hey, okay, am I in alignment? Am I leading with my heart? Am I making good, conscious decisions? Is my intention still to raise vibrations, not lower vibrations, not contain people? Where is my intention? Am I still where it's supposed to be, and are my actions and my words in alignment with that? I have to do that, sometimes on a minute by minute basis.

Speaker 1:

I feel like, especially if I get in my head about something, if someone has wronged me or someone, or I've wronged someone, I have moments where I start to get in that spinny hamster wheel, right, and I'm like, oh crap, what is happening? And I and I pause for a minute. That's why meditation is so important, that's why spirit forever is like go to your heart, go to your heart, go to your heart, because when you get in your heart and you're truly leading by your heart, there is not this overwhelming nonsense everywhere, because you're full of love. And that's not to say you don't make mistakes, you don't do ignorant things, you don't say stupid things or rude things or make stupid actions. But you got to check in with yourself and if, if you find, when you check in with yourself that you know what I'm not being in alignment, I, I was around somebody earlier and I was really rude.

Speaker 1:

What was my problem? Okay, well, yeah, I didn't sleep great the night before, okay, yeah, hadn't argued with my spouse before I left the house, okay, uh-huh, okay, uh, didn't end up getting my cup of coffee till way later, okay, okay, well, okay. But what does that have to do with that other person that just got the brunt of your pissiness? Nothing. They just, unfortunately, were in the line of fire. So, if that happens, just be honest with yourself and reach out to them. Like, hey, I was an ass, okay, earlier, I'm sorry.

Speaker 1:

I have every excuse in the book I can use to be an ass. You know, for being an ass, that I didn't sleep, that I didn't get my coffee till later, that my spouse and I got in an argument, blah, blah, blah. But none of that, none of that makes it okay that I was completely ignorant to you. So I just want to let you know that I honor you and I am aware that my actions and my words were not appropriate and not deserved and I apologize for being a jerk and I'm going to really continue to work on that, that I don't do that, but I hope you have a really great day and I'm I'm genuinely sorry for the way I acted.

Speaker 1:

That takes you two minutes, but it does so much in you and it does so much in that person because you don't know what could have taken place in them. You know, maybe they had a crappy morning right, maybe they have, maybe their mom is dying on hospice currently, and then they had you come in and blow your top for no reason at all and they're feeling like I am a piece of crap, like what is going on, and not to mention whatever energy is going on in the world at that moment, because God knows, that's crazy sometimes. So by taking that accountability and that responsibility, you're not only returning to alignment in you, but you're also letting them know that that wasn't a personal thing, that that wasn't a personal thing, that you're willing to take responsibility for the way you acted and that you're aware that it wasn't appropriate and it wasn't needed to take place. And it helps them to be able to relieve some of that burden that they were carrying, because they've already got plenty of crap to deal with too.

Speaker 1:

We all do right, so we just got to bring. We got to make sure that kindness is in the forefront for what we do, but do not mistake kindness for weakness. Kindness for weakness Do not mistake kindness for continuing to be a doormat, because that's not okay either. So the other side of that is speaking up for yourself and working on your throat, chakra and your heart and letting people know when they do hurt you, that they hurt you and whatever they decide to do with that information is something they're going to have to live with. So if they take it in a terrible direction, that's unfortunate, but that's their decision and that's their energy they have to live with. You know you stayed in alignment, you spoke your truth and you let them know you can find your peace with your spirit team, with being in alignment with your highest self and knowing that you have this beautiful supportive spirit team rooting for you and they're so proud of you for speaking your truth, for being authentically you and for being okay with being you right.

Speaker 1:

So I know it's kind of like a lot and kind of heavy and I don't ever really want to go that direction with things, but I do feel like it's important to, like the old saying goes, trust your gut, because so many things can change and, like I mentioned earlier, you know whether you know someone for a couple weeks, you know them for a couple of years and you just start to have that feeling. You know, I feel like I need to start to step back from this, or not quite sure what's being shared with me is truth. I'm not quite sure. I want you to honor that. Honor your intuition, honor your guidance. It is given to you to keep you safe.

Speaker 1:

Oh, deep breaths. Yeah, let's do that for a minute. Let's take three deep breaths in through your nose, out through your nose, out through your mouth. Another one In through your nose, out through your mouth, one more In through your nose, out to your mouth. There we go, there we go. Okay, on a side note, a happy thing that, uh, something I wanted to share.

Speaker 1:

I'm so grateful for. Well, there's like a gazillion things I feel like right now, but one of the things I was thinking about yesterday is how grateful I am for every single Reiki session I get to do on someone. You know, I get to be this vessel for healing, right. You know, I get to be this vessel for healing right, like I get to be able to have this energy flow through me into them and I get to watch this healing take place and I get to connect with their spirit team. Their spirit, my spirit team connects with their spirit team and this whole environment of healing is taking place and in these sessions so you know, I think I've talked about, you know, past loved ones will often come through, along with the angels and their spirit guides and all of those kinds of things, and with that, different cultures come through, right, and it's so fascinating to me.

Speaker 1:

I love to learn about different cultures and to just be like immersed in the diversity of everything, because it's so incredible how we all live on this earth and we all have so many varied backgrounds and differences but yet also so many similarities, right, you know, a little while back there was a session that I was really brought into this Italy type environment, like I could feel Italy, I could feel like being in Italy. I could hear different languages, I could hear different dialects, I could feel and smell different things and, oh, my goodness, it just felt so amazing I've had that happen with a client that had a lot of ancestry in Spain as well. So I got to feel that and Japanese I've had some moments of Japanese and like different pieces of the culture come in that I don't know, like I don't know a lot of different things. So it's so amazing to me because I'll ask the client, you know, I'll say, okay, well, they're showing me this and this looks like this and this is like a symbol, but I'm not for sure what it means, you know, and and the client may be like, oh, my goodness, yeah, that's actually a religious symbol, or that's actually a symbol of prayer that we use, or that has something to do with our, um, our food, or you know, oh, my gosh, it's so fascinating and so cool.

Speaker 1:

And sometimes I'm shown like these beautiful cathedral-like places that are in places like Italy and Spain and things, and it's like I get to travel without physically going anywhere. It's so incredible and I'm so humbled and blessed and excited that I get to be part of that. Like I'm just like, oh, I turned into like a little giddy kid and I'm just so excited. I mean like how can it get better that, like you get to be part of assisting someone with healing and you get to experience all of these beautiful places and all these beautiful spirits and all of these beautiful ancestors and these oh my gosh, it's so, and in a feel good environment, because I've got my candles lit, I've got the meditative music playing, I've prayed in the room before the client came in.

Speaker 1:

Even on my Zoom sessions I do all of that as well. I pray in the room, I set up the room, I bless the room, I go through a whole sequence of things. I call in their spirit team, I call in my spirit team and ask all of us to assist in healing and releasing, healing and releasing. And in the healing and releasing we make room for these higher vibrations to come through, these beautiful, beautiful downloads that are coming through, these vast amounts of information that really were so deeply already within us but because there was so much muck in the way, we couldn't even get the door open to access them. But now we can because we were willing to go and to ask the things that started to come up, to make us more open to all of the beautiful things out there.

Speaker 1:

I'm so grateful and if you ever want to do a session, please go to AngelReikiJourneycom. You can click on the link the angel reiki sessions.
